Scented candles, soothing music, and rose petals strewn on beds greeted employees entering the Mayor’s Office for the day’s work on Friday, September 23, 2016. This was a surprise gift of the LGU to its employees, the month of September being National Civil Service Month.

To be more accurate, five to ten deserving employees from each department were signed up for the rare treat. The lucky employees had to choose one out of five services from the Spa Party package offered by Cristina Reyes Spa: foot spa, facial with diamond peel, body massage, manicure-pedicure, and ear candling. Ear candling is an ear cleaning technique using beeswax that is reputed to be good for those with migraine, vertigo, and even fever and flu.

Cristina Reyes, a TESDA-certified trainor and assessor, brought her entire staff for the occasion. They were aided by her recent graduates from a training she had conducted for Kasama Kita sa Barangay Foundation who gave quick back massages at the lobby to anyone willing.
