Bayambang MDRRMO rescues flood-stricken barangay folks

MDRRM Officer Genevieve U. Benebe conducted rescue and relief operations the whole week, from August 13 to August 17, for Bayambangueños residing in 18 low-lying barangays, with assistance from the PNP, BFP, POSO, GSO, Market, MSWDO staff led by Lerma Padagas, and other LGU departments.

According to Benebe, the most badly hit barangays were Pantol, Managos, Manambaong Parte and Manambong Sur, while Paragos became isolated as the roads going there became non-passable to vehicles.

Relief goods were distributed to the flood victims in 6 evacuation centers, namely Manambong Parte, Manambong Sur, Pantol, Paragos, Iton and San Gabriel II Evacuation Center.

Each relief pack contained 3 kilos of rice, 2 cans of sardines, 2 packs of noodles, 2 packs of wheat energy food, 2 packs of chocolate drink, 5 pieces of biscuits, and 6 liters of distilled water, Benebe pointed out.

Several LGU scholars also lent a hand in the repacking of relief goods.

With the help of RHU I and II, medical attention was also given to evacuees for not less than 24 hours.
