Komprehensibong Serbisyo Brought to Barangay Pantol
Every Bayambangueño deserves to receive public service, and this was exemplified once again by the Local Government Unit of Bayambang as they returned on May 25 to Barangay Pantol, which is considered as the barangay furthest from the Poblacion, for the second year of Komprehensibong Serbisyo sa Bayan.
LGU officials, department heads and employees had to pass through the towns of Bautista and Alcala to be able to reach Barangay Pantol. According to the locals, the estimated tricycle fare from their barangay to the Poblacion is P100-300, which is why instead of going to the Bayambang Public Market, residents there prefer to go to the nearby town of Moncada, Tarlac.
Vice-Mayor Raul R. Sabangan explained that Mayor Cezar T. Quiambao was finalizing the plan for the diversion road on that day, so he was not able to attend the Komprehensibong Serbisyo for the very first time. Mayor Quiambao, who has firsthand experience on the difficult travel to Pantol, is working hard to guarantee the completion of the Pantol-to-San Gabriel 2nd Diversion Road which will ensure faster and better access to the barangay.
Accompanying Vice-Mayor Sabangan were Councilor Martin Terrado, Councilor Philip Dumalanta, Dr. Nicolas Miguel, and Municipal Legal Officer Atty. Raymundo B. Bautista Jr. Pantol Barangay Captain Efren Perez expressed his sincerest gratitude to Komprehensibong Serbisyo Chairperson Dr. Paz F. Vallo and to everyone involved in the program.
A total of 947 beneficiaries came to avail of the different services rendered at the Pantol Evacuation Center, while 314 residents received a free PhilHealth card (notably with no expiration date) with the help of the Department of Health represented by Mao Gamboa, proving that even if it is remote, Barangay Pantol is not overlooked.
