Mayor Quiambao et al advise surrendering drug personalities in Bayambang

A Moral Enhancement Program for illegal drug personalities who voluntarily surrendered here was held last Thursday at the Municipal Conference Room, with Mayor Cezar T. Quiambao leading a line-up of speakers who dished out advice to the 16 men who decided to give up their drug ‘connections’.

Quiambao welcomed the move of the drug personalities as an additional positive development in his quest to bring genuine progress and development to Bayambang.

Police Supt. Gregorio L. Galsim, municipal chief of police, disclosed that 163 individuals admittedly involved in drugs earlier gave feelers that they would give up, but a number of them obviously changed their minds.

To add meaning to the occasion, the Rotary Club of Bayambang (RCB) currently headed by Dr. Leticia B. Ursua, took charge of inviting the speakers to give advice, admonition, and inspiration to the surrendering individuals.

Ursua said that noted religious leaders like Rev. Fr. Michael Sandalo and Pastor Melanio Cerezo imparted inspiration messages to the ‘surrenderers’ with emphasis on the spiritual and religious aspect as both dwelt on the evils wrought and brought by illegal drugs.
