ZumBayambang Explosion, a Salute to Our Soldiers

Zumba enthusiasts showed off their best dance moves while wearing fatigues during the 2017 ZumBayambang Explosion held October 21 at the Balon Bayambang Events Center.

As part of the National Health and Wellness Month celebration, this activity was aimed at finding a highly motivating activity that will drive people to burn a lot of calories per session. Zumba dancing provides the perfect opportunity to engage in fun-to-perform movements in a friendly social environment while improving the physical and mental health of all participants.

ZIN Lorna Ubando, a Bayambangueña, and ZIN Marj and ZIN Mimi, were the special guests who led the Zumba Party, together with regular instructress ZIN Rizza Masiglat and her team.

Mayor Cezar T. Quiambao and wife Niña Jose-Quiambao graced the event, greeting the participants who numbered around 250.

The theme was military-inspired because the event was also a way of giving salutation and felicitation to our brave new heroes, the Filipino soldiers, policemen and special action forces who fought and won the battle against the ISIS terrorists that recently attacked Marawi City.

In his inspirational message, Mayor Cezar T. Quiambao noted that the war in Marawi City had already ended, but the municipality’s war against poverty still goes on. He said that since health is wealth, ZumBayambang Explosion is one of the many activities that will help us fight poverty since good health and fit body means being economically productive.

Special awards were given right after the Zumba Party, including ZumBayambang King and Queen, ZumBayambang Prince and Princess, Best Zumba Outfit, ZumBayambang Flawless, and Hataw King and Queen.
