Basketball and volleyball fans were in for a treat as the Local Government Unit (LGU) Sportsfest 2017 on October 23 featured the second game of both men’s basketball and women’s volleyball championship at the Balon Bayambang Events Center.

Team Executive staged a come-from-behind win over Team Legislative with the final score of 89-85 to secure the basketball championship. Legislative, which included its star player Vice-Mayor Raul R. Sabangan, valiantly fought their way until their seemingly sure win was snatched during the last six minutes of the fourth quarter.

Team Social, on the other hand, remained undefeated as they easily claimed victory over Team Finance in three sets with the scores 25-14, 25-18, and 25-10.

Executive and Social both won their first games in matches held last week.

The annual LGU Sportsfest, which is meant to strengthen the sense of camaraderie and sportsmanship of LGU employees, will feature other sporting events the rest of October and November.
