Dr. Joselito P. Rosario of the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) reports that 30 vaccinators from the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI)-Manila were accommodated by the LGU for five days, from June 5 to June 9, for a massive anti-rabies vaccination of dogs and cats around the different barangays of Bayambang. The activity was conducted with the assistance of the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian stationed at Capitol Compound, Lingayen.
This activity is line with the National Rabies Prevention and Control Program which has the goal of realizing a Rabies-Free Philippines by 2020, writes Dr. Rosario in a report submitted to Mayor CTQ. “The Program has identified high-risk municipalities in rabies infection in the province and our municipality happens to be one of those identified to be high-risk areas.”

Dr. Rosario further explains that the 14 barangays not covered were already vaccinated 5-6 months prior to this activity.
