A Seminar on Basketball Officiating was held on May 10-12 at the Bayambang National High School Gym, in preparation for the upcoming LGU Inter-Department Sportsfest, which is set to start on May 22nd.

The seminar was also meant to be a tool to help develop a pool of talents who are expected to turn the knowledge they will have gained into a form of livelihood.

The trainors were Dr. Reynante R. Hufana, who is the first Department of Education’s Federation of International Basketball Association referee, and Dr. Edilberto Abalos, Overall Commissioner of the First Governor’s Cup, Palarong Pambansa Tournament Manager, Samahang Basketbolista ng Pilipinas (SBP) Regional Director, and President of the Department of Education Basketball Referees Association.

Also present were SBP Commissioner Ronald Cariño, who is Principal IV of Agno National High School, and Commissioner on Volleyball, Al Macaranas.

The event was organized by the Municipal Physical Fitness and Sports Development Council under Executive Director Bernardo Jimenez in cooperation with the SBP.
