To instill in the youth the wealth of traditional games of our culture, the LGU has staged the Laro ng Lahi competition last April 7 on Pangasinan State University open grounds.
Spearheaded by the Municipal Physical Fitness and Sports Development Council’s (MPFSDC) Executive Director, retired Prof. Bernardo Jimenez, the activity aimed to remind the current generation of the rich gaming culture that we had before digital technology took over the lives of the youth.

As Municipal Administrator and lawyer Rodelynn Rajini A. Sagarino put it, these games should be highlighted and celebrated. “We should promote our own traditional games especially in this kind of festivity,” she added. “It would be a pity if this very rich culture of ours will be forgotten and become obscure through time,” Sagarino lamented.
The Laro ng Lahi competition featured games like Sack Race, Breaking the Pot, Pabitin, Palo Sebo, Catching the Pig, Tug of War, Agawang Buko, Going to Market, and Longest Line, among others.
The activity attracted hundreds of participants from different barangays.
Winners for each event received corresponding prizes.
