Mayor Cezar T. Quiambao expressed to the senior citizens of the town his elation for being with the group during the town’s 403rd celebration of its annual fiesta.
Spearheaded by the Office of the Senior Citizens Association (OSCA), the activity was attended by hundreds of senior citizens from different barangays and held at the newly renovated and fully air-conditioned Municipal Events Center (formerly Municipal Covered Court) last April 4.
This year’s celebration took the theme “Balon Bayambang: Balon Gapo, Balon Ilalo,” which encapsulates Bayambang’s hope in the Quiambao administration for a new style of leadership and governance.
This is the first time Quiambao celebrates the fiesta as the top local official of the town.
In his 9-month stint as the local chief executive, Quiambao has pioneered massive transformations in the town, notably the renovation of the municipal covered court which now functions as a fully-air-conditioned events center, beautification and landscaping of Municipal Plaza, Agno River clean-up and mural painting on its dike’s extended wall, massive road constructions around the barangays, creation of various offices such as the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Department, Tourism Office, and Public Order and Safety Office, among others.
“Expect more changes,” Quiambao added.
The once-young stratum of society took notice of these changes as they congratulated Quiambao on his hard work to make Bayambang as great as possible as the local chief executive.
“Hindi na mainit at hindi na tayo mauulanan tuwing tayo ay may aktibidad,” OSCA chief Iluminada Mabanglo exclaimed.
Mabanglo profusely thanked Mayor Quiambao for his continuing support and love for the town’s elderly.
