Mayor Cezar T. Quiambao was the guest of honor in a ceremony held last Friday, December 16, 2016, at the PNP Bayambang grounds for the blessing of their newly constructed fence.

After a mass and the blessing ceremony presided over by Fr. Allen Romero, the PNP took the opportunity to detail its accomplishments for the year in an audiovisual presentation. Chief of PNP Bayambang PSupt. Cirilo B. Acosta Jr. said that, “Bumabagsak lagi ang Bayambang sa evaluation of security and evaluation of accomplishments for class A towns, pero ngayon, hindi na, thanks to Mayor’s support.”

Mayor Quiambao responded by recalling an earlier meeting with Acosta. “Nang ito [fence] ay hiningi, di na ako nagdalawang-isip. … Our protectors need protection,” he said.

His Christmas gift to the PNP is just the start of other good things coming for the local police, he announced. “Malapit na yung Innova, pandagdag pansamantala before the patrol car promised by PNP [national office] for 2017.”

“I have also requested the DILG for 25 additional personnel for our planned 8 police precincts for the 8 districts of Bayambang. Magkakaroon na tayo ng total police visibility sa barangay.”

Mayor Quiambao also took the opportunity to make an appeal to the public. “Kailangan ang partisipasyon ng buong komunidad, hindi lang ng PNP [sa pagsawata sa kriminalidad]. Huwag sanang sasama ang loob sa ating kapulisan kung ang kamag-anak ninyo ay nahuli dahil gumagawa ng masama. Ginagawa lang ng pulis ang kanilang trabaho.”

He closed by congratulating PNP Bayambang for a job well done.
