Bayambang’s Bagsakan and Central Food Court Opens

Mayor Cezar T. Quiambao graced the opening of the town’s new Bagsakan and Central Food Court along Quezon Blvd., Brgy. Zone 1 last Wednesday, October 26.

Quiambao said the 2,250 square meter site in front of the Public Market will only be temporary until the LGU can find an area to build Bayambang Town Center which will house the different vendors of the town.

Also a stopgap measure to help address the current traffic situation in Poblacion, the site will be the new place for the “bagsakan” (drop-off point for produce) as well as the “lugawan” (congee/dimsum places) and “kalutan” vendors (fish grillers) formerly operating in front of the church.

To make the new site livelier, the local chief executive asked music bands to perform on assigned nights. “Magiging bagong pasyalan ito sa ating bayan,” Quiambao added.

CTQ then thanked ex-Vice Mayor Jose “Boy” Ramos and wife Judith Ramos for letting the LGU rent out their land. He also expressed his gratitude to the Sangguniang Bayan members for making the relocation possible through legislation, as well as the vendors for their consent to be relocated for this project.
