Six hundred school children from 8 schools received a free school backpack each from the office of Mayor Cezar T. Quiambao on September 28, 2016 at Wawa Elementary School.

The donation was delivered to the beneficiaries through parish priest Fr. Jasper Hebron, in time for the parish-wide celebration of the feast of San Lorenzo Ruiz.

A mass was celebrated at 7:30 am, followed by a procession around the parish led by the Saint Vincent Catholic School’s drum and lyre band.

Selected pupils from Wawa, Tampog, San Vicente, Warding, San Gabriel Iton, Paragos, and Managos Elementary School outdid one another in staging presentations on the life and times of San Lorenzo Ruiz.

The participants were treated to free snacks after their performance.

In behalf of the teachers and pupils of the eight schools, Fr. Hebron thanked the delegation from Municipal Hall.
