Bayambang Water District Explains Water Supply Problem

The Bayambang Water District (BWD) wrote Mayor Quiambao last Sept. 14 to explain their side on the issue of the lack of water in many areas they serve. This problem of supply has driven many customers to air their complaints to BWD and the mayor.

In the letter, BWD General Manager Francis Junio Fernandez says that the low to no water supply during daytime in many areas is caused by the stoppage of operation in one of their pumping stations last Sept. 1 due to the salty, foul-smelling water being produced there.

According to water analysis results from tests conducted by Platinum Research Laboratory Inc., the water quality from that pumping station has exceeded the Philippine Standards for Drinking Water.

Nevertheless, BWD assures the public that they are addressing the problem through a well drilling project in Brgy. Tamaro, among other measures. They say, however, that following the standard operating procedure towards making the well operational may cause some delay. (Bayambang PIO/Media Affairs)
