DSWD CONVERTS MODE OF PAYMENT FROM CASH CARD TO PREPAID CARD

The Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) of Bayambang said the mode of payment to 4Ps will change from cash cards to prepaid cards effective January 2017.

According to Teresita Pamintuan, Project Development Officer 1 of DSWD Regional Field Office, this event is in accordance with Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Circular No. 808 mandating all banks and other financial institutions to shift their technology to Europay, Mastercard and Visa (EMV) chip.

“Through these prepaid cards, beneficiaries of the Modified Conditional Cash Transfer (MCCT) may receive their cash grants at any automated teller machine (ATM) anywhere,” said Pamintuan

Further, Pamintuan also said the cards will contain the facial photo of the beneficiaries, adding that “these new cards are more secure because adding the photos of the beneficiaries will prevent others from using the cards.”

MSWDO chief Lerma Padagas said the 4Ps of Bayambang already started orienting the beneficiaries for the change of mode of payment today, September 19, 2016.

Prepaid Card System photo capture and household information revalidation will run from September 19 until September 30, 2016, 9:00 am at the Bayambang Covered Court.

At present, there are 6,135 Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries in Bayambang. (Bayambang PIO/ Media Affairs)
