In time for Crime Prevention Week (first week of September), PNP Chief Cirilo Acosta, Jr. apprised the public on the latest number of drug-related arrests as well as traffic violation tickets issued.

Acosta reported that from July 1 to September 5, 2016, the number of people who surrendered in drug-related cases is 509. Their ages range from 18 to 66 years old. One surrenderer is a minor (16 years old).

“The voluntary surrenderers will undergo a livelihood training program to help them become self-sufficient members of society. Our aim is reformatory.”

“Started last August 3, this project is a first in the province of Pangasinan,” Chief Acosta pointed out.

“We encourage all Bayambangueños to support the PNP in its anti-illegal drugs campaign,” Chief Acosta appealed to the public.

“From August 2 to September 5, we have issued tickets to 1,140 traffic violators (no franchise, no plate, driving without license, driving without documents),” he added.

“We intend to double this number to help increase the revenue and, more importantly, to ease the traffic situation in town,” he said. (PIO/Media Affairs)

  1. kim may nagreklamo sa word na arrested. yun kasi ang ginamit ni Chief Acosta eh. anyway, baguhin na lang natin from this:

the number of people arrested in drug-related cases is 509

    to this:

the number of people who surrendered in drug-related cases is 509

so pakidelete yung arrested at paki-insert ang “who surrendered”
