The Municipality of Bayambang has been conferred the Seal of Child-Friendly Governance for 2016 by the Council for the Welfare of Children.
The town received the seal “for its commitment in promoting child rights to survival, development, protection and participation, towards a Child-Friendly Philippines: A Caring and Protective Society For, By and With the Children,” reads the certificate signed on December 12, 2016 by Department of the Interior and Local Government Officer-in-Charge Catalino S. Cuy and Department of Social Welfare and Development Secretary Judy M. Taguiwalo, PhD., who is also the Chairperson of the Council for the Welfare of Children.
Mayor Cezar T. Quiambao personally received the certificate after the June 10 flag ceremony at the Balon Bayambang Events Center, together with Vice-Mayor Raul S. Sabangan, Councilors Mylvin Junio, Amory Junio, Joseph Vincent E. Ramos, and Martin Terrado, Association of Barangay Councils President Rogelio P. Dumalanta, Municipal Local Government Operations Officer Romarie P. Soriano, Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office’s Head Lerma Padagas, Municipal Health Officer Dr. Paz F. Vallo, and Rural Health Physician Dr. Adrienne Estrada.
