Dubbed “Dugo ko, Dugtong Buhay Mo,” the drive aimed to help meet the current demand for blood not only in Bayambang but in other towns as well.

Leading the donors were members of the Philippine National Police Bayambang, municipal employees, and other individuals.

Research says that through blood donation, the body is incited to create new blood, and new blood means renewed energy. Blood donation also reportedly decreases the chance of having cancer.

Aside from knowing their your own blood type, hemoglobin level and blood pressure and losing almost 650 calories through blood donation, donors can also help save lives, especially those who are in dire need of blood. One bag can help save 3-5 lives.

RHU I’s Dr. Paz Vallo reported that the SVCS blood donation drive yielded 49 bags out of 83 donors. (Bayambang PIO/Media Affairs Office)
