“Galilan mangan, man-galaw tan nataktakot!”
With that as come-on, the first-ever Halloween Party was staged at the Municipal Covered Court on October 31, sponsored by the LGU in partnership with the Rotary Club of Bayambang. It was billed “Anyanian ed Bayambang.”

It was a day filled with fun and excitement for the kids, as they came in costumes and eagerly participated in several parlor games sponsored by Jollibee and McDonald’s, on top of time allotted for a round of trick-or-treat.
In behalf of Vice-Mayor Sabangan, Rotarian Lita Bautista, together with Tourism OIC Gloria Valenzuela, welcomed the sizeable crowd of children and guests who thronged the Covered Court. The guests included members of the Municipal Council for Culture and the Arts, such as Prof. Januario Cuchapin, Dr. Annie Manalang, Dr. Clarita Jimenez, and Mr. Rafael Saygo, as well as Hermana Mayor Judith Ramos.
In a special number, a group of Bayambang Central School pupils did a well-received dance interpretation of a Grace Nono classic. “The Voice Kids” finalist Al Vincent Casela gave his own version of Adele’s “Hello,” plus an extra song after he was pressed for more. As expected, he received a thunderous round of applause.
In the trick-or-treat portion, the children were told to go around different booths assembled in front of the Municipal Hall, RHU1, and Municipal Covered Court. Carrying baskets, they ransacked each booth for assorted candies and other hidden loots.
One of the highlights of the day was the awarding of the Best in Costume. The kids lined up on stage to give their scary best. Three representatives, all from Barangay San Gabriel First, captured the top three places, with young Judith Itarog declared by the panel of judges (the MCCA members) as being the best. Her chosen character was a hunchback, with a little coffin in tow, and the way she executed it was very convincing.
It was a day of rollicking fun for all the little ones.
