Thousands of Bayambangueños, tourists, and visitors from nearby towns joined the fun and enjoyment as they grilled good food and grooved to good music at PSU-Bayambang Campus grounds last April 1 for this year’s Kalutan ed Dalan Concert.
The star-studded concert jampacked with a medley of song numbers varying from pop, rock and upbeat genres to sentimental and emotional songs gave the spectators a roller coaster of music experience that made them move, groove, and cry their feelings out while feasting on their sumptuous meals and bonding moments with friends and loved ones.
The event started with the performance of local bands who performed excellent covers as people were filling up the place and started setting up their grilling stations. Various DJs such as DJ Aryan, DJ Marc Marasigan, and MC Kappo then also started playing their best mixes that made the crowd sing, dance, and go wild.
Municipal Mayor Niña Jose-Quiambao expressed in her opening message that she was thankful for the never-ending support of Bayambangueños to the said town fiesta. She also noted how thankful she was to God that the event was finally made possible.
Meanwhile, Congresswoman Rachel “Baby” Arenas, in her message noted that she’s elated that finally after three years of being stuck at home due to the pandemic, festivities like this are now back. She also expressed her gratitude towards Bayambangueños and she vowed to continue to serve them wholeheartedly.
Moments after, the hosts finally introduced to the crowd the Drag Queens Curvedilol, Captivating Katkat, and Popstar Bench who performed their drag-mazing performances featuring hit songs of Lady Gaga, Sarah Geronimo, and Jessie J.
Also joining the merriment was no other the Governor Ramon “Mon-Mon” Guico III who greeted all Bayambangueños a happy and meaningful fiesta. He also expressed his gratitude to the LGU-Bayambang for the support the provincial government is receiving from the municipality.
The fun did not stop there, as the “Asia’s Phoenix,” Morissette Amon, who is well known for her powerful voice, performed some of her top hit songs, “Phoenix” and “Akin Ka Na Lang,” as well as some cover songs of This Band’s “Kahit Ayaw Mo Na,” Jamie Rivera’s “Mahal Naman Kita,” and Ryan Cayabyab’s “Araw Gabi”.
The night was still young and the crowd was still hyped when UltraCombo finally came on stage and performed their top hits and crowd favorite E-Heads songs, “Minsan,” “Spoliarium,” “With a Smile,” “Ligaya,” “Alapaap,” “Ang Huling El Bimbo,” and many more songs that had sure made the crowd feel nostalgic while jumping off their feet.
Though the night was going deeper, the fun only intensified when indie band Nobita burst into the scene. Led by their frontman, Jaeson Felismino, they sent youthful fans into emotion with the lyrics of their songs, “Unang Sayaw,” “Totoo,” and runaway hit, “Ikaw Lang.” They also performed Rico Blanco’s “Antukin,” and Rivermaya’s “Kisapmata,” which the made the crowd sing with their hearts.
Staying true to its tradition of making the town fiesta one of the happiest nights in the town, the LGU-Bayambang, under the sterling leadership of Mayor Niña Jose-Quiambao, never stops to offer Bayambangueños all the best, and Kalutan ed Dalan is a testimony of this thrust, proving that Bayambang is indeed, as the Tourism Office’s slogan says, “where the best things happen.”
