Marie Denise Ursua Abella finally made a courtesy call on Mayor Cezar T. Quiambao in his office on August 6, 2018. She was accompanied by her mother Lily Luz Ursua Abella and grandmother Dr. Leticia B. Ursua.
It can be recalled that after the traditional Monday flag-raising ceremony last July 10 at the Balon Bayambang Events Center, LGU-Bayambang led by Dr. Quiambao honored Ms. Abella for finishing BA Architecture (Honours) First Class Degree at the School of Architecture, Oxford Brookes University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, UK on June 8, 2018. At the Oxford institution, First Class Degree is reportedly equivalent to Summa Cum Laude.
Ms. Abella is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis R. Abella and Lily Luz U. Abella of Zone V. She is the granddaughter of Dr. Ursua, who is the LGU’s Media Affairs Officer/Consultant.
In Denise’s absence, her grandmother Dr. Ursua received a plaque of appreciation, certificate of appreciation, and tarpaulin announcement in recognition of her exemplary achievement, which of course brings honor to her hometown. “May this exceptional achievement inspire all Bayambangueños to pursue world-class excellence in their chosen fields,” the plaque reads.
The young achiever said she paid a visit to personally thank the Mayor for the gesture.
