SLP Series: Orientation on Dairy Enterprise held in Manambong Sur

The DSWD’s Municipal Link organized an Orientation on Dairy Enterprise last May 23 for members of Manambong Sur Fisherfolk Association in Brgy. Manambong Sur.

According to Project Development Specialist Ayen Garin-Sison, this will be backed up with a Seminar on Dairy Management on June 13-14 plus an exposure trip to a dairy farm in Asingan on June 15.

On the first week ng July, 17 water buffaloes will be awarded to the association members, she said.

“The LGU has committed to provide housing for the carabaos. This project is in partnership with the Philippine Carabao Center.”

“Nauna na silang (the fisherfolk) bigyan ng fingerlings from BFAR. Additional source [of livelihood] itong carabao project from SLP,” Sison added, referring to DSWD’s Sustainable Livelihood Program from which the funding for this pilot enterprise came.
