Komprehensibong Serbisyo sa Bayan brought to San Vicente

Bayambangueños continue to receive government services brought closer to them through the Komprehensibong Serbisyo sa Bayan, spearheaded this year by Municipal Health Officer Dr. Paz F. Vallo along with Rural Health Unit II head Dr Adrienne Estrada. The latest edition, held at San Vicente Elementary School on May 11, served 716 residents of Barangay San Vicente, Pugo, Tampog, Darawey, and Wawa.

“Sana magpatuloy ng walang hanggan ang programang ito para sa mga mamamayan ng Bayambang,” Barangay Captain Amado M. Arenas said as he thankfully welcomed the government officials and LGU department heads and employees to Barangay San Vicente.

Vice Mayor Raul R. Sabangan reiterated that the program is part of the fulfillment of the election promise of the Quiambao-Sabangan administration. “Pangalawang taon na po naming ginagawa ito,” said Mayor Cezar T. Quiambao, “kasi hangarin namin na ang serbisyo ay mapalapit sa bawat barangay.”

Mayor Quiambao brought with him some good news as he announced that claimants of lands in Mangabul will soon have titles for their lands. He also took the opportunity to clarify that LGU-Bayambang has no authority over the recent increase in taxes because the provincial government, specifically the provincial Sangguniang Bayan, is the one that has the power to do so.

Also present during the program were Councilors Amory Junio, Martin Terrado and Joseph Vincent Ramos, along with Municipal Legal Officer Atty. Raymundo B. Bautista Jr. who gave counsel to those who had legal queries.

Kasama Kita sa Barangay Foundation, Inc. Managing Director Levin Uy called Mayor Quiambao the “miracle worker in public service” because of the countless changes that have been made for the town in less than two years.

Being true to the statement of Vice-Mayor Sabangan, “Bayambang, tawir ko. Bayambang, aroen ko,” the LGU continues to bring medical, dental, and other services closer to under-served Bayambangueños. Among the innovations introduced this year is the feeding activity held by the Nutrition Office headed by Municipal Nutritionist Venus Bueno. They gave malunggay-pineapple juice plus vitamin-fortified crackers to the children at the Ambayat 2nd Komprehensibo and arroz caldo with malunggay in Maigpa, while they enticed the kids with carrot- and malunggay-flavored ice cream in San Vicente.

Another added service since the Komprehensibo in Ambayat 2nd is the story- telling sessions conducted by Lady Philina Duque, who entertains her young audience with inspiring Bible stories.
