25 New Security Guards Finish Training

“Napakalaki ng role ninyo (security guards) by keeping the company safe.”

This was the message of Kasama Kita sa Barangay Foundation, Inc. (KKSBFI) Managing Director Levin N. Uy to graduates of the Pre-Licensing Training Course for Security Guards from Bayambang, Urbiztondo and San Carlos City during the Joint Graduation Ceremony held September 7 at the KKSBFI Training Center in Amanperez.

Uy discussed how security guards are the ones who keep the company’s property and equipment safe even after office hours by making sure that the management will not encounter unfortunate events that could lead to disasters.

Dr. Elpidio Marinas Jr., the School Director of Vigor International Security Training Academy, which served as the trainor-institution, congratulated the class of 47 students, 25 of whom are from Bayambang, as he officially declared them graduates.

The affair was intimate, with only a few of their friends and relatives present.

Arlene G. Sison, head of the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), led Vigor, KKSBFI and LGU representatives in awarding the new security guards their Certificates of Competency. MSWDO Bayambang head Lerma Padagas reminded them that finishing their training is only the first step in finding a job so they should persevere and work hard because they were given a rare opportunity to undergo training for free.

To further inspire the fresh graduates, Uy told them to always consider four important factors as they enter a new chapter of their lives. The first factor is interest. Uy mentioned that self-interest is needed for them to be more effective in their jobs. The next two are vision and education. According to him, if they already have interest, then they can draw a mental picture of where they would start and finish their dream. And because they have already undergone proper training, it would be easier for them to reach these goals and aspirations. The last and the most important factor, said Uy, is commitment – to their job, duties, and responsibilities.

The new graduates were urged by Uy to submit their complete documents to their sister company which has deployments to Manila, Baguio and other parts of Pangasinan.
