The Farmers Association of Bayambang received subsidized seeds and organic fertilizers coming from the Pangasinan provincial government last Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at the Municipal Covered Court.

Municipal Agriculture OIC Artemio Buezon said the seeds and organic fertilizers are good for 200 hectares, with 4 bags of fertilizers and 1 bag of palay seeds allotted per hectare.

Meanwhile, Mayor Cezar T. Quiambao encouraged the local farmers to get involved also in backyard planting, adding that this will generate additional income for them. Quiambao said he believes that agriculture is a great tool to fight poverty, especially since Bayambang has a vast area for farming.

Towards the end, the local chief executive called for cooperation and fairness in the distribution of the said items. “Magtulungan  tayong lahat para maiangat natin ang ating mga sarili at ang ating bayan,” he added. (Bayambang PIO/Media Affairs)
