The LGU, led by Municipal Administrator Atty. Rodelynn Rajini Sagarino, pulled out all stops to celebrate Mayor Cezar T. Quiambao’s 68th birthday on Thursday, November 17, 2016, at the Municipal Covered Court in a surprise program organized by Sangguniang Bayan Secretary Joel V. Camacho.
Attended by invited guests and Bayambang’s who’s who as well as ordinary folk, the affair had a barrio fiesta theme, complete with banderitas, marching band, lechon, singing and dancing, and a thanksgiving mass officiated by Rev. Fr. Jimmy Quinto.
Other November birthday celebrators from the LGU family were also given the VIP treatment together with the mayor by giving them a grand entrance plus a candle-blowing and gift-giving ceremony.
Atty. Sagarino opened the program proper by welcoming the crowd, saying the party was meant to be “a celebration of Mayor CTQ’s accomplishments and a gesture of thanks for the many sacrifices he has rendered to the municipality.” She also took the opportunity to announce to the public, by way of a video, how CTQ recently received his “greatest gift so far in the person of Ma’am Niña Jose-Quiambao.” She was, of course, referring to the mayor’s recent marriage to Ms. Niña Jose in America.
The different departments of the LGU and representatives of the various sectors of town then took turns in offering special gifts and sending their greetings and good wishes through an audiovisual presentation.
Special numbers were presented, including harana by the LGU Band, a performance of the town’s famed “Binasuan” folk dance by the Matalunggaring Dance Troupe, a serenade by the Sangguniang Bayan led by Vice-Mayor Raul Sabangan, and another dance by selected LGU employees.
Apparently overwhelmed by the spontaneous show of love and support, Mayor CTQ quipped, “Masarap palang maglingkod sa bayan.”
The fiesta-themed party was just one of a series of birthday surprises that Mayor CTQ received on his natal day. (Bayambang PIO/Media Affairs)
