To my kabaleyans affected by the new tricycle parking scheme:
First of all, I would like to apologize to all those whose businesses have been affected by the latest tricycle parking scheme the town is implementing. I am a businessman myself, and I understand where you are coming from.
However, I plead for your understanding at this time. Our intention is not to get in the way of your livelihood. I highly commend your hard work and effort to make an honest living for your families. The last thing we planned to do was to impede or obstruct business opportunity.
Please bear in mind that our intention is to ease the worsening flow of traffic downtown in order for everyone to have a more comfortable ride to and from their destination and precisely to help ease the flow of business. With an improved traffic situation, we ultimately want to attract new investors to our town and create new jobs and opportunities for all.
I therefore appeal to your sense of patriotism. I hope you understand where your mayor is coming from: As the father of the town, I only want what is best for the good of the most number of people.
And please understand that this new parking scheme is only at the EXPERIMENTAL stage. Rest assured that we are doing everything we can to exhaust all means to find a better solution. I’d appreciate it if you could pitch in your own ideas in order to solve this problem the best way possible.
Let’s all hope and pray for a middle ground, if there is any. In the meantime, I beg for your patient understanding.
Thank you very much.
