Rotary Club of Gangjin-Tamjin (RCGT) of South Korea, sister club of the Rotary Club of Bayambang (RCB) visited the 3-classroom project donated to Bascos Elementary School in Manambong Parte, Bayambang, Pangasinan. This Global Grant implemented by RCB, Cluster 2-C, District 3790 is under the sponsorship of the Rotary International Foundation and RCGT.
The visiting Rotarians were met in front of the town’s Municipal Hall by the host club. The itinerary included a motorcade led by the Local Government Unit’s Public Safety Office force starting from Niñas Café leading to Bascos Elementary School. A very warm welcome was accorded the RCGT by the school, the PTA, and the Barangay Manambong Parte community. The school children and faculty waved flaglets of the Philippines and South Korea as a gesture of welcome as they cheered for the guests’ arrival. A Dedication Ceremony was held in their honor where the school principal, Mrs. Lily Luz Corpuz and Barangay Captain Romeo F. Macaraeg gave their welcome messages. The Local Government Unit of Bayambang was represented by Mr. Rolando Gloria, the Executive Director of the Local School Board.
There was cutting of ribbon of the 3-classroom newly-completed Global Project and a recitation of the Dedication by all of the Rotarians. Speeches of appreciation came from the presidents of the two clubs. Likewise, 3790 District Governor Ann Lorenzana was represented by District International Partnership Chair Jojo Cuison of RC-Downtown Dagupan in this occasion.
Part of RCB’s expression of appreciation was the lunch cum fellowship tendered for the visiting sister club at Niñas Café. The President of RCGT, in his response, generously announced a 1000 dollar gift that will be used to purchase two units of 43-inch SMART television set, one wall fan, box of school supplies and deworming tablets for Bascos Elementary School. The Renewal of Sisterhood Agreement was signed by the President of both clubs, President Maribell Perreras of RCB, District 3790 and President Choi Je-Young of RCGT, District 3610.
