Light, fun, and relaxed.
The different faces and lighter sides of the officials and employees of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Bayambang were on full display during the LGU and Cultural Night at the Balon Bayambang Events Center, April 3. The tenor was set by a rousing opening dance number by no less than the different department heads.
Municipal officials headed by Mayor Cezar T. Quaimbao and the employees of the LGU got a chance to break away from their day-to-day work schedules as they moved and grooved to the beat of cultural performances prepared for the night.
The event started with a song dedicated to St. Vincent Ferrer rendered by the F5+ Choir. The Matalunggaring song and an interpretative dance which reflected the history and rich culture of Bayambang were also presented.
Municipal Administrator, Atty. Raymundo B. Bautista Jr., opened the evening by extolling the virtue of dedication in the name of public service and talked about the night’s running theme of victory and peace, which he pointed out shared the same ‘V’ sign.
Members of the Bayambang Municipal Council for Culture and Arts (BMCCA) performed Bayambang’s official dance, also known as ‘Lanceros de Bayambang,’ a formal group dance reflective of the beautiful culture of the town. The colorful dance presentation illustrated the unity and good relationship among Bayambangueños.
In his inspirational message, Vice Mayor Raul Sabangan talked about the importance of embracing the culture that started it all. “Ang kultura ng Bayambang ay hindi lamang kinikilala, kung hindi ay iniintroduce din sa mga kabataan,” he said in the middle of his talk. He also gave thanks to God for the true cooperation existing among the employees of the town.
One of the night’s highlights is the awarding of a certificate of gratitude to Dr. Cezar T. Quiambao and his wife, Mrs. Niña Jose-Quiambao, in appreciation of their outstanding leadership and unwavering commitment to the attainment of a better Bayambang.
While giving his final speech, Mayor Quiambao can’t help but get emotional. “Nine years from now, makikita ninyo ang resulta ng paghihirap ng LGU at magiging proud [ang lahat ng empleyado] na naging parte sila ng journey na ito.” He also said that he is happy to see that his hard work is slowly paying off.
The night ended with a tribute to the LGU employee-retirees, which included Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer Lerma Padagas, who has rendered 30 uninterrupted years of service, Seed Inspector Ricardo dela Masa of Municipal Agriculture Office, Emma Ballesteros of the Local Civil Registry Office, and Sally Gangano and Cecilia Lopez of Rural Health Unit 1. The special awardees were Jay-R Sabangan, Joel Chua, and Ruben Dela Cruz for Honest Employee and Dexter Junio and Nestor Lambino as Most Punctual Employees.
This event was organized by the Municipal Tourism Office under Supervising Operations Officer Rafael Saygo together with the Human Resource Management Office under Nora Zafra, in cooperation with the BMCCA under Executive Director, Prof. Januario Cuchapin.
