“The drivers are not just Kings of the Road anymore, they are now the associates of progress,” Kasama Kita sa Barangay Foundation, Inc. (KKSBFI) General Manager Romyl Junio said during the first-ever Tricycle Operators and Drivers’ Association (TODA) Day held at the Tricycle Terminal, April 3.
Balon Bayambang is truly routing a fast-paced development, producing new facilities and establishments intended to respond to public demand; including the new terminal for tricycles located near the town plaza. Tricycles are considered the most important means of transport and the terminal had been primarily beneficial to all Bayambangueños, especially the students who need a place to shed while waiting for vehicles on their way home or to their school.
“Among any other towns, Bayambang ranks first in the courtesy of its drivers; they are not just courteous enough, they are also honest,” Hermano Mayor Henry Fernandez proudly announced on his inspirational speech.
Moreover, proven not only to be diligent, the drivers of Bayambang were also blessed with different talents which were showcased during the TODA Got Talent: Search for Talentadong Tricycle Driver and Operator. The competition’s winners included Francisco Manuel Jr. of Telbang (1st Prize:P10,000 & Trophy), Victor M. Claveria of Nalsian Norte (2nd Prize: P7,000 & Trophy), and Eduardo G. Villon of Pugo (3rd Prize: P5,000 & Trophy). Meanwhile, the non-winning contestants did not go home empty-handed as each of them received P2,000 as consolation.
Gracing the occasion were Mayor Cezar T. Quiambao, Vice Mayor Raul R. Sabangan, the Municipal Councilors, Sen. Risa Hontiveros, Engr. Vici Ventanilla, and LGU department heads and employees.
This TODA Day was included in the 2019 Pista’t Baley festivities to give due recognition to the hardworking assets of economic progress in Bayambang.
