“There is no place like Bayambang because Bayambang is our home,” Municipal Mayor of Bayambang Hon. Dr. Cezar T. Quiambao proudly affirmed during the People’s Grand Ball and Balikbayan Night held at the Bayambang Public Auditorium, April 8.

A night filled with great food and good music capped off the weeklong festivities of the town as the Local Government Unit of Bayambang paid tribute to the 165 balikbayans through a formal dinner and mini-concert with comic singer K Brosas as the special guest performer.

More than just a dazzling celebration, People’s Grand Ball and Balikbayan Night is a way of celebrating our heroes’ homecoming – they who had been out of the country, mostly for years, and came home all the way from Saudi Arabia, Guam, Canada, Australia, USA, and Japan just to take part in the various festivities.

The fete was made even more special with bahay kubo-themed booth giving away traditional Filipino delicacies that the balikbayans surely had missed, such as sorbetes, bibingka and puto bumbong.

Aside from Mayor Cezar T. Quiambao, who came together with his wife, Mrs. Niña Jose-Quiambao, Vice-Mayor Raul Sabangan, and the members of the Sangguniang Bayan also graced the momentous occasion and joined the guests as they danced all night long to the music of the province’s pride, Don Podring Orchestra.

The appearance of the newly crowned Binibining Bayambang 2019 Viana Angela Lazo, Binibining Bayambang Charity 2019 Avegail Junio, together with top 5 finalists Mary Ann Romano and Francessca Rufo added glamor to the night.

Organized by the indefatigable Sangguniang Bayan Secretary Joel Camacho, assisted by his team of well-trained ushers and usherettes, it was a glamorous night to remember as the balikbayans took the rare chance of taking a trip down memory lane right in their beloved hometown, Bayambang.
