This was emphasized by Municipal Mayor, Dr. Cezar T. Quiambao, in his speech during the 2019 Educators’ Night as part of Bayambang Pista’y Baley celebration, April 2.

Mayor Quiambao, who is known for the persistent support he gives to the town’s education sector, further stressed out the vital roles of teachers in nation-building, thus proving that they play a big role in his own advocacy of alleviating poverty in his hometown.

Meanwhile, Education Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Service and Alternative Learning System, Ms. G.H.S. Ambat, also came to grace the event. “As educators, our goal is for the students to learn. We want our learners to make the most of the opportunities that the industry 4.0 will bring.” Asst. Sec. Ambat emphasized, as she talked about the global learning crisis prevailing.

The guest speaker, who traces her roots in Bayambang, also dared and inspired the teachers to always put success at the forefront of their profession. “Our success should be able to contribute to a bigger cause, not just to our cause. For those people who are not as lucky as we are, we will be able to help them,” she said.

One of the highlights of the Educators’ Night, which was a night of celebration for teachers, education leaders, non-teaching personnel and school administrators, was the awarding of the 2019 Outstanding Educators of Bayambang, as chosen by a committee handpicked by this year’s organizer led by DepEd Bayambang I Public Schools District Supervisor, Dr. Catherine Ferrer.

The awardees were chosen not only for having gained recognition inside and outside the town, but also for making significant contributions to their respective communities. Some 73 educators from the different schools of Bayambang were awarded.

Furthermore, the town’s educators also showed their talents and proved that they are good not just in teaching, but also in dancing. With this, educators from Bayambang District I, Bayambang District II, Bayambang National High School and other nationalized high schools, as well as private schools competed in a dance showdown.

Garnering the first place was Bayambang District II, followed by private schools, Bayambang District I (which is under PSDS Dr. Candra Penoliar), Bayambang National High School, and nationalized high schools, in that order.
