The Local Council of Women, under the leadership of Chairperson Mary Clare Judith Phyllis Jose-Quiambao, continues to strive for the empowerment of Bayambangueñas through their countless projects that uplift the women of Bayambang. On November 15, 2018, a meeting with Mayor’s Action Center head Jocelyn Espejo, Sangguniang Kabataan officials, and members of the Kalipunan ng Liping Pilipina (KALIPI) from the 77 barangays of Bayambang was held at the Rizal Room of the Balon Bayambang Events Center to discuss various topics that can help the LCW in its goal of recognizing the importance of women and the youth in the Revolution against Poverty.
Presiding over the meeting was Senior Tourism Operations Officer Rafael L. Saygo. The attendees joined the discussions on the creation of barangay-level women councils and the proposed projects in every barangay that can help in the municipality-wide revolution that was declared by Mayor Cezar T. Quiambao.
For the first time in Bayambang, the LCW will have a counterpart in the different barangays which will give women more avenues for empowerment. These will not only help maximize the potential of women in poverty alleviation and ensure the town’s success in the revolution, but also boost the morale of the women and the youth of Bayambang.
This meeting is the beginning of the materialization of the ideas of the LCW to further empower Bayambangueñas and see their significance in the ongoing and future projects of the Local Government Unit.
