3rd Mega-Job Fair Nets 110 Applicants

The third Mega-Job Fair last November 24 – the third one held for 2017 – at the Balon Bayambang Events Center netted 110 applicants, with 24 applicants hired on the spot.

In his welcome remarks, OIC Municipal Administrator Atty. Raymundo B. Bautista Jr. said that giving employment is one way of helping Bayambangueños uplift their status in life. “Once hired, you (applicants) should give your best in the job not only for monetary reason, but most importantly for your self-advancement, making it a stepping stone to gain experience. Whatever you would do at day one would determine who and what you will be in the future,” he added. Atty. Bautista further told the would-be employees that the most important contribution they would make is to add value to themselves and their organization through new knowledge and experience gained.

In his own message, Mayor Cezar T. Quiambao noted that conducting a mega-job fair such as this was meant to help resolve the problem of poverty. He, however, noticed the comparatively low turnout of applicants and remarked that, on the positive side, it could mean that a lot of locals have already found gainful employment. To those who showed up, he gave this advice: “Sana pag natanggap kayo, pagbutihin ninyo, mahalin ninyo ang inyong trabaho, kasi mahirap ang walang hanapbuhay.”

Bayambang Municipal Employment Service Office (MESO) Manager, Dr. Joel T. Cayabyab, presented the 26 local and 13 overseas employment agencies participating.

The event was organized by the MESO team including Action Desk Officer Gerenerio Q. Rosales. In addition to the aforementioned data, Rosales reported that 40 more applicants qualified for submission of requirements and further interview.
