Hundreds of Bayambangueños flocked to the Kasama Kita sa Barangay Foundation (KKBF) Training Center in Brgy. Amanperez on November 26-27, 2016 to take advantage of the Dental Mission held there in cooperation with the local government unit.
The night before the event, the busload of 44 dentists and their assistants from the Southern California Dental Society, Centro Escolar University, and University of the East were welcomed with a short program by Mayor Cezar T. Quiambao and his fellow Rotary Club of Bayambang members at his residence in Saint Vincent Village (SVV).
A total of 810 patients took turns in availing of the free dental services, namely oral consultation, tooth extraction, and dental cleaning. The tooth extraction patients were also handed out free dental kits and medicines.
A typical tooth extraction would have cost them P400 plus P100 for medicine, while a typical dental cleaning job would have cost P500.
While the crowd was waiting, a brief lecture was conducted for them by one of the delegates, detailing the do’s and don’t’s of dental care. The lecturer reminded her audience that tooth disease, if left unattended, can lead to more serious ailments.
Mayor Quiambao and wife Niña Jose Quiambao also made a surprise visit to the KKBF Training Center to greet everyone who took part in the activity. Mayor Quiambao shared that, next year, there will be a donation of 16 dental chairs so dental filling would be included among the free services offered. “We will also attempt to make denture jobs (pustiso) also available in the future,” Mayor CTQ added.
The delegation was again feted at the Quiambaos’ SVV home for a thanksgiving mass and dinner Sunday night. (Bayambang PIO/Media Affairs)
