Six officers from DSWD Field Office I, San Fernando City, La Union were in town to conduct accreditation work for day care centers and workers from October 24 to October 28. Within this period, the accreditors went around 58 child development centers in the different barangays and evaluated the facilities and their respective child development workers.

At the exit meeting with the regional officers held Thursday at the Saint Vincent Village Clubhouse, Municipal Administrator Atty. Raj Sagarino underscored the importance of day care centers because “personality development and discipline are learned at 3 to 4 years of age.”

According to MSWD Head Lerma Padagas, Bayambang has 72 day care centers, a number of which have already undergone accreditation. Almost all of the remaining unaccredited centers passed the evaluation process, Padagas said. (Bayambang PIO/Media Affairs)
