Newly-elected officials of Bayambang led by Mayor Cezar T. Quiambao, together with Vice-Mayor Raul Sabangan and the Sangguniang Bayan members plus Department heads, attended the Newly Elected Officials (NEO) Orientation and Executive-Legislative Agenda (ELA) Formulation Workshop held at the Saint Vincent Village in Bical Sur, Bayambang on September 27 and 28.
It was a two-day workshop conducted by the Department of Interior and Local Government – Pangasinan Provincial Chapter.
The ELA is a term-based plan culled out from the Comprehensive Development Plan which contains the major development thrusts and priorities of both executive and legislative branches for the three-year term of office. The ELA and the Capacity Development Agenda are mutually developed and agreed upon by the executive and legislative departments of the LGU in consultation with the various stakeholders.
According to Quiambao, this kind of workshop should be taken seriously because this will educate them on how to properly run the municipality and train officials in proper governance and rendering public service.
“We should not ignore workshops, trainings and opportunities like this in our municipality because this capability programs will be an important process to our town’s success,” Quiambao added.
Further, he cited that the greatest assets of any organization are its people, so organizations should learn how to value and take care of them, “because they will be the key factor and contributor in Bayambang’s development in the long run”, he further said.
Moreover, he believes these programs will certainly sharpen their knowledge in public governance, and will also serve as his instrument in embarking the future commitments of his administration to help Bayambang in terms of Dynamism, Government efficiency and Infrastructure Development.
